Hey, I agreed with that about semi-colon because my teacher told me like that too!
question: Jake is washing his car; he is getting ready for a long vacation.
Isn’t it better to use a colon? I learned that a colon is used if the 2nd IC helps explain the the first clause, and a semi-colon is used roughly like “and”.
