    Pears does rhyme with stairs. Likely someone thought it rhymed with “ears” because of the spelling similarity, but that is not the case. Pears rhymes with bears, and chairs, and stairs! :)

    No native speaker here, but according to the dictionary it’s /pɛərz/. The pronounciacion you learnt would be /pɪərz/
    And yes, learning the IPA would be highly recommended ;)
